Dharmānukathana
Narration of Dharma
lakṣāśvamedhajaṃ puṇyaṃ saṃprāpnoti na saṃśayaḥ | pūjayā rahitaṃ liṅgaṃ kusumairyo'cayetsudhīḥ || 124 ||
Suta (narrating Narada Purana teachings)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches that sincere devotion expressed through a simple offering (flowers) can yield immense merit, equated here with the fruit of vast Vedic sacrifices.
By prioritizing heartfelt offering over elaborate ceremony, it highlights bhakti as accessible and powerful—even minimal acts done with reverence become spiritually transformative.
Ritual pragmatics: the verse implies that while formal pūjā has procedures, devotional intention and a basic upacāra (flower offering) can still be efficacious—useful guidance for everyday worship practice.
