It highlights that spiritual purification is not arbitrary: expiation (prāyaścitta) must be sought and applied according to dharma, restoring inner purity and right order.
By implying that sincere seekers clarify faults through prescribed atonement, it supports bhakti as a disciplined life—devotion accompanied by ethical accountability and purification.
It points to dharma-based procedural correctness (nyāya/vidhi) used in ritual life—closely aligned with Kalpa (ritual procedure) and Smārta-prāyaścitta frameworks.
