Narada (teaching in summary style within the Anukramanika context)
Vrata: Indirā Ekādaśī
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It states the twofold fruit of a sacred observance: prosperity/enjoyment in this life (bhukti) and final liberation (mukti), emphasizing that disciplined vrata can culminate in freedom from prapañca (worldly entanglement).
By highlighting Ekādaśī observance (fasting and restraint) as a concrete devotional discipline associated with Indirā (Lakṣmī) and, by implication, Viṣṇu-centered worship—showing bhakti expressed through vrata and niyama (vowed practice).
It relies on calendrical/ritual timing—Ekādaśī in the kṛṣṇa pakṣa of Āśvina—reflecting practical application of Jyotiṣa (Vedāṅga astrology/calendar science) for determining vrata days.
