It anchors Linga-bhakti in sacred space: Shiva (Pati) is not abstract only, but also present through consecrated abodes; such remembrance supports pilgrimage, temple स्थापना (installation), and focused Linga-upāsanā.
Shiva is indicated as Candramauli and Śambhu—self-luminous and auspicious—whose ‘moon-like radiance’ signifies cooling grace that pacifies the Pashu’s inner agitation caused by Pāśa (bondage).
A key practice is smaraṇa (contemplative recollection) of Shiva’s dhāma and names (e.g., Chandramauli). This supports Pāśupata-style inward steadiness where the Pashu turns attention to Pati through mantra and dhyāna.
