FAQs

Indirectly: it frames dharma as the necessary ethical ground for inner purification; without restraint and right association, the mind remains disturbed, obstructing realization of the Self taught elsewhere in the Kurma Purana.

No specific technique is taught here; instead, it gives yama-like foundations—moral discipline and careful company (saṅga). Such purity is presented as prerequisite for higher sādhanā, including the Kurma Purana’s yoga-oriented teachings.

This verse is primarily dharma-focused and does not explicitly discuss Shiva–Vishnu unity; it supports the broader Purāṇic synthesis by emphasizing shared ethical discipline as the common base for both Shaiva and Vaishnava paths.
