FAQs

This verse does not directly define Ātman; it introduces disciplined daily dharma (nitya-karma) as the ordered foundation that steadies the mind—an indirect prerequisite for higher self-knowledge taught elsewhere in the Purāṇa.

No specific yoga technique is named here; the emphasis is on samādhāna (mental collectedness) and a regulated daily routine, which functions as preparatory discipline supporting later yogic and contemplative teachings in the Kurma Purana.

It does not explicitly mention Śiva or Viṣṇu; the verse frames dharma as an authoritative, orderly instruction—consistent with the Purāṇa’s broader Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis where right conduct supports devotion and liberation.
