Narrator (Purāṇic narration within the Ishvara-Gita section, describing the theophany of Maheshvara in the presence of Vishnu)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
By portraying Maheshvara as “yogātmā” and as the one whose tejas pervades the entire cosmos, the verse implies a supreme reality that is both the inner yogic essence and the all-pervading luminous ground of existence.
The verse emphasizes the yogic state as an ontological reality—Maheshvara himself is “the soul of Yoga.” In the Ishvara-Gita frame, this supports meditation on the Lord’s all-pervading tejas (luminous presence) as a contemplative method aligned with Pāśupata-oriented devotion and inner absorption (samādhi).
It depicts non-competitive unity: Maheshvara is shown seated “together with Vishnu,” while radiating cosmic tejas—an Ishvara-Gita hallmark of Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis where the supreme divinity is honored through both names and forms.
