Skanda Purana — Prabhasa Khanda, Shloka 19

तपसा ब्रह्मचर्येण स्नानैर्दानैः पृथग्विधैः । तथा यज्ञैर्जपैर्होमैस्तत्र वृत्तिर्भवेन्नृणाम्

tapasā brahmacaryeṇa snānairdānaiḥ pṛthagvidhaiḥ | tathā yajñairjapairhomaistatra vṛttirbhavennṛṇām

Doon, ang pamumuhay ng mga tao ay hinuhubog ng tapas (pagpapakasakit) at brahmacarya (banal na disiplina), ng mga sagradong paliligo at iba’t ibang anyo ng pagkakawanggawa; gayundin ng yajña, japa (pagbigkas ng mantra), at homa (handog sa apoy).
