ततो यज्ञोपवीतं दद्यात् अनेन मंत्रेण । सूत्रतंतुमयं शुद्धं पवित्रमिदमुत्तमम् । यज्ञोपवीतं देवेश प्रगृहाण नमोऽस्तु ते
tato yajñopavītaṃ dadyāt anena maṃtreṇa | sūtrataṃtumayaṃ śuddhaṃ pavitramidamuttamam | yajñopavītaṃ deveśa pragṛhāṇa namo'stu te
Pagkatapos, ihandog ang yajñopavīta (sagradong sinulid) sa mantrang ito: “Ang dakilang yajñopavīta na ito, yari sa dalisay na mga hibla at lubhang nagpapabanal—O Panginoon ng mga deva, tanggapin Mo ang sagradong sinulid na ito. Pagpupugay sa Iyo.”
