Skanda
Tirtha: Kāśī-kṣetra (Avimukta)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Skanda narrates: a maiden, having received her mother’s consent, enters the supremely pure Kāśī-kṣetra and begins an extraordinary austerity, her posture steady and inwardly luminous.
With rightful permission and firm resolve, tapas performed in a holy kṣetra becomes extraordinarily potent and spiritually transformative.
Kāśī as the “paramapāvana kṣetra,” the supremely purifying sacred region celebrated throughout the Kāśīkhaṇḍa.
No specific rite is prescribed here; the emphasis is on undertaking severe tapas in the sacred kṣetra with proper consent and discipline.
