Mantra 37
Thou verily, O mighty God, dost favour the mortal. None other than thee, O bounteous Indra, is a helper: to thee I speak the word.
It is the Madhyandina-savana (midday Soma pressing) phase, strengthening the rite through Soma’s descent, Indra’s empowerment, and ordered participation of divine groups.
They are declared “havis-bearing,” meaning they can carry and perfect the oblation; Āpaḥ with Apām Napāt represent both purification and the radiant potency that conveys offering-power to the gods.
It yokes the external act of offering to the sacrificer’s inner faculties (hṛd and manas) and then to the cosmic axis, ensuring the sacrifice is both correctly performed and inwardly integrated.
