अन्तराय-उपसर्ग-विवेचनम् / Analysis of Yogic Obstacles (Antarāyas) and Upasargas
फलाभिलाषरहितैश्चिन्त्याश्चिन्ताविशारदैः । घोराश्चेच्चिंतिताः कुर्युः पापरोगपरिक्षयम्

Kapag ang mga kakila-kilabot at dakilang anyo o mantra ni Śiva ay pinagninilayan ng mga taong walang pagnanais sa pansariling pakinabang—ng mga naghahanap na marunong sa matatag na pagninilay-loob—nagbubunga ito ng ganap na pag-ubos ng kasalanan at ng mga sakit na mula sa kasalanan.

Significance: General tīrtha-phala analogue: contemplation of ugra forms with niṣkāma-bhāva is said to destroy pāpa and pāpa-janita roga (sin-born afflictions).

It teaches niṣkāma (desireless) contemplation of Śiva: when meditation is done without craving rewards and with steadiness, Śiva’s grace weakens the pāśa (bondage) of pāpa, leading to inner purification and relief from afflictions.
The verse supports Saguna-upāsanā: contemplating Śiva’s powerful forms, names, or the Liṅga with focused awareness purifies the devotee, making the mind fit to realize the higher truth of Śiva beyond limitation.
Practice steady dhyāna and japa with a nishkama attitude—especially Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) before the Liṅga—supported by purity disciplines such as bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa, so contemplation becomes unwavering and transformative.
