न चातिचिंताकुलितो न चातिक्षुत्पिपासितः । नापि स्वगुरुकर्मादौ प्रसक्तो योगमाचरेत्
na cāticiṃtākulito na cātikṣutpipāsitaḥ | nāpi svagurukarmādau prasakto yogamācaret
Hindi dapat isagawa ang Yoga kapag ang isip ay nalilito dahil sa labis na pag-aalala, ni kapag pinahihirapan ng matinding gutom at uhaw; at hindi rin dapat magsimula ng Yoga kapag labis na abala sa mabibigat na tungkulin at gawain. Ang Yoga ay dapat isagawa nang matatag at may balanseng kalagayan ng katawan at isip.

Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
The verse teaches that Shiva-oriented Yoga requires inner steadiness (śānti) and bodily balance; agitation, deprivation, or compulsive busyness binds the mind to pasha (limitation), making true contemplation of Pati (Shiva) ineffective.
Linga-worship and Saguna Shiva-dhyana demand a collected mind; this instruction emphasizes preparing oneself so that japa, dhyāna, and pūjā are not performed mechanically while the mind is scattered by anxiety, hunger, or pressing worldly duties.
It suggests practising Shiva-dhyāna and mantra-japa only after basic needs are calmly met and duties are settled; then one may sit steadily for meditation—ideally with Shaiva supports like Panchakshara japa and a composed, sāttvika routine.
