It teaches that grace (anugraha) arises when the devotee honors the divine ordinance of Śiva and Śivā, and abides in śiva-bhāva (Shiva-consciousness); boons are not merely asked, but received through alignment with Pati and His Śakti.
The verse is a Saguna-oriented invocation—approaching Śiva together with Śivā as the compassionate, responsive Lord and Goddess—often expressed in Linga worship through reverent obedience (ājñā), prayer for grace, and seeking protective kavacha-like blessings.
Recite the verse as a protective kavacha-prayer before Linga-pūjā, mentally establishing śiva-bhāva; it pairs naturally with Panchākṣarī japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") and a sankalpa for receiving Śiva-Śakti’s grace.
