Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadyojāta
It teaches a disciplined, ordered worship of Shiva’s manifest aspects: the devotee approaches the Divine through structured reverence, recognizing Shiva as the accessible, sakala (saguṇa) Lord who engages the world through the three guṇas while guiding the soul toward liberation.
By calling the fore (eastern) aspect “Śiva” and describing Him as triguṇa and sakala, the verse supports saguṇa-upāsanā—worship of Shiva in a manifest, approachable mode (as in Liṅga/arcā worship), which purifies the pashu (bound soul) and prepares it for higher realization.
It implies directional, sequential pūjā (beginning from the east), performed with focused attention on Shiva’s manifest presence—ideally accompanied by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) as the meditative anchor during worship.
