स्पंदयत्यनिलात्मदं बिभर्ति स्पंदते स्वयम् । औग्रीति कथ्यते सद्भिर्मूर्तिरुग्रस्य वेधसः । सर्वावकाशदा सर्वव्यापिका गगनात्मिका । मूर्तिर्भीमस्य भीमाख्या भूतवृंदस्य भेदिका
spaṃdayatyanilātmadaṃ bibharti spaṃdate svayam | augrīti kathyate sadbhirmūrtirugrasya vedhasaḥ | sarvāvakāśadā sarvavyāpikā gaganātmikā | mūrtirbhīmasya bhīmākhyā bhūtavṛṃdasya bhedikā
Pinakikilos niya ang hininga-buhay (hangin), inaalalayan ito, at siya mismo’y pumipintig bilang mismong galaw na iyon. Kaya tinatawag ito ng mga pantas na anyong Aūgrī (mabangis), ang anyo ni Ugra, ang Manlilikha. Ipinagkakaloob niya ang lahat ng kalawakan, lumalaganap sa lahat, at may likas na katangian ng langit. Ito rin ang anyong Bhīma—kilala bilang “Bhīmā”—na bumabasag sa mga pulutong ng mga nilalang (at sa kanilang mga gapos).

It presents Shiva’s śakti as the inner “pulsation” (spanda) that moves and sustains prāṇa and also as vast, sky-like all-pervasion—showing Pati as both immanent in life-breath and transcendent as boundless space, with the power to break bondage.
By naming Aūgrī and Bhīmā as forms of Ugra (Shiva), it supports Saguna worship: devotees contemplate specific divine aspects—fierce, protective, and liberating—while understanding that the same Shiva pervades all as prāṇa and ākāśa.
A practical takeaway is prāṇa-dhyāna: meditate on the breath’s subtle movement as Shiva’s spanda, then expand awareness into all-pervading space (ākāśa-bhāvanā), mentally repeating a Shiva mantra such as the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”).
