Sarga 95: Lamentation in Laṅkā and the Causal Chain of Enmity
"Threatened like this by Raghava, we cannot perceive anyone in this world who can protect us now. Just as beings are threatened by the time spirit at the end of the destruction of this world, we are threatened."
The verse underscores moral causality: when adharma reaches its limit, protection collapses and one confronts the consequences, likened to the inevitability of Kāla (Time). Dharma is presented as the true refuge, not mere power or alliances.
After severe losses in Laṅkā, the rākṣasī women lament and panic, describing Rāma’s assault as inescapable and seeing no protector left for them.
Rāma’s steadfast, dharmic resolve and irresistible efficacy in restoring moral order—portrayed through the comparison to Time at world’s end.
