भरतस्य मातृसदनगमनं कैकेय्या दारुणवृत्तान्तकथनं च

न ब्राह्मणधनं किञ्चिद्धृतं रामेण कस्यचित्कश्चिन्नाढ्यो दरिद्रो तेनापापो विहिंसितः।न रामः परदारांश्च चक्षुर्भ्यामपि पश्यति।।2.72.48।।
na brāhmaṇadhanaṁ kiñcid dhṛtaṁ rāmeṇa kasyacit | kaścin nāḍhyo daridro vā tenāpāpo vihiṁsitaḥ | na rāmaḥ paradārāṁś ca cakṣurbhyām api paśyati || 2.72.48 ||
Ni katiting na yaman ng isang brāhmaṇa ay hindi inagaw ni Rāma; ni sinumang walang sala—mayaman man o dukha—ay hindi niya sinaktan. At si Rāma, kahit sa pagtingin ng mga mata, ay hindi tumitingin sa asawa ng iba.
