FAQs

It states that bathing at Phalgu-tīrtha in waters regarded as sacred to Viṣṇu is a meritorious act directed both toward ancestral uplift (pitṛs attaining Viṣṇu’s realm) and the seeker’s twin aims of bhukti (well-being) and mukti (liberation).

The act is explicitly oriented to Viṣṇu—calling the water “Viṣṇu-jala” and seeking “Viṣṇu-loka”—showing bhakti as intention (saṅkalpa) expressed through a devotional rite at a sacred place.

Ritual application (Kalpa) is implied: tīrtha-snānā with a stated saṅkalpa for pitṛ-benefit and spiritual fruit, reflecting how Narada Purana frames pilgrimage rites within dharma leading to bhukti and mukti.
