FAQs

It elevates Gaṅgā-snana as a powerful tirtha-practice, stating that sustained bathing in the Gaṅgā can yield merit comparable to extreme austerity, emphasizing accessible purification through sacred geography and disciplined observance.

By prioritizing a devotional, faith-based practice (reverent bathing in Gaṅgā as a sacred tirtha) over severe self-mortification, it supports the Purāṇic ideal that sincere, steady observances performed with श्रद्धा (śraddhā) can lead to great spiritual benefit.

It highlights ritual discipline (kalpa-oriented conduct) through the regulated practice of स्नान (snāna) over a fixed period (one month), implying vrata-like observance and purity rules associated with tirtha rituals.
