FAQs

It highlights the pain created by rivalry and envy in household life, implying that inner purity and restraint are essential foundations before one can properly undertake higher pursuits like pilgrimage, vows, or devotional practice.

By showing how interpersonal jealousy and fear disturb the mind, the verse indirectly points to a key Bhakti principle: steadiness of heart and freedom from malice (adveṣa) support sincere remembrance and worship of the Lord.

No specific Vedanga (such as Vyākaraṇa, Jyotiṣa, or Kalpa) is taught directly; the practical takeaway is ethical—guarding speech, gaze, and conduct in the household to prevent conflict that obstructs dharma.
