FAQs

It highlights how intense emotion (krodha) arises even in powerful beings when adharma-like violence is witnessed, and it frames the moral weight of harming the devotees/attendants of a deity—an act treated as spiritually grave in Purāṇic ethics.

By lamenting the death of Maheśa’s followers, the verse implicitly underscores reverence toward the Lord’s devotees/retinue; bhakti is protected by honoring devotees and avoiding offenses that lead to conflict and downfall.

No direct Vedāṅga instruction is given in this line; it functions as itihāsa-style narrative within the Third Pada, serving as contextual storytelling rather than a technical lesson in Śikṣā, Vyākaraṇa, Chandas, Nirukta, Jyotiṣa, or Kalpa.
