Narada (teaching a technical mantra-prayoga within Vedanga-oriented sections)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It presents a mantra-prayoga where focused dhyāna on Lakṣmaṇa—symbolizing release from constriction—combined with disciplined japa (10,000 repetitions) is said to remove both literal and inner “fetters,” i.e., binding limitations and karmic constraints.
Bhakti is expressed through ādarāt (reverent remembrance) and steady japa; devotion is made practical by fixing the mind on a revered divine exemplar (Lakṣmaṇa) and sustaining faith through repeated mantra-recitation.
A technical ritual detail is given: a specific sankhyā (count) for japa—ayuta (10,000)—along with dhyāna as an aṅga (supporting limb) of mantra-prayoga, reflecting applied discipline typical of Narada Purana’s technical sections.
