समोऽस्त्वित्यक्षरान्दद्यात्ततः शिष्योऽर्चयेद्गुरुम् । ततः सचन्दनं हस्तं दत्वा शिष्यस्य मस्तके ॥ ३८ ॥
samo'stvityakṣarāndadyāttataḥ śiṣyo'rcayedgurum | tataḥ sacandanaṃ hastaṃ datvā śiṣyasya mastake || 38 ||
Ibigay niya ang mga pantig na nagsisimula sa “samo’stu” (“nawa’y may pagkakapantay at kapayapaan”). Pagkaraan, dapat sambahin at parangalan ng alagad ang Guru. Pagkatapos nito, ilalagay ng Guru sa tuktok ng ulo ng alagad ang kamay na pinahiran ng sandalwood upang ganapin ang ritwal.
