Maṅgalācaraṇa, Naimiṣāraṇya-Sabhā, Sūta-Āhvāna, and Narada Purāṇa-Māhātmya
पुरार्जितानि पापानि तस्य नश्यन्त्यसंशयम् । पुराणे वर्तमानेऽपि पापपाशेन यन्त्रितः । आदरेणान्यगाथासु सक्तबुद्धिः पतत्यधः ॥ ६२ ॥
purārjitāni pāpāni tasya naśyantyasaṃśayam | purāṇe vartamāne'pi pāpapāśena yantritaḥ | ādareṇānyagāthāsu saktabuddhiḥ patatyadhaḥ || 62 ||
Ang mga kasalanang naipon mula pa noon ay tiyak na napapawi para sa kaniya. Ngunit kahit binibigkas ang Purāṇa, kung siya’y nakagapos sa tali ng kasalanan at, sa maling paggalang, ikinakapit ang isip sa ibang awit at kuwentong makamundo, siya’y bumabagsak sa ibaba.

It teaches that sincere engagement with Purāṇic recitation has the power to dissolve previously accumulated sin, but spiritual fruit is obstructed when the mind remains bound to sinful habits and distraction.
Bhakti here is shown as attentive śravaṇa (devout listening). Turning away from sacred hearing toward worldly entertainment reflects misplaced devotion and leads to spiritual decline.
A practical discipline of śravaṇa is emphasized—mental focus and restraint (a dharmic observance) during sacred recitation; no specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa) is explicitly taught in this verse.
