Adhyaya 47 — Brahma’s Awakening and the Ninefold Scheme of Creation
आपो नारा वै तनव इत्यपां नाम शुश्रुम ।
तासु शेते स यस्माच्च तेन नारायणः स्मृतः ॥
āpo nārā vai tanava ity apāṃ nāma śuśruma / tāsu śete sa yasmāc ca tena nārāyaṇaḥ smṛtaḥ
“Ang mga tubig ay tunay na tinatawag na nārā”—gaya ng aming narinig, bilang pangalan ng tubig. At sapagkat Siya’y nahihimlay sa ibabaw nito, Siya’y inaalala bilang Nārāyaṇa.
