The verse emphasizes delegated responsibility in a crisis: a warrior is urged to accept the ‘bhāra’ (burden) placed upon him and act decisively. It highlights the ethic of personal accountability in war—being called to meet a formidable opponent rather than avoiding the appointed duty.
A speaker addresses Karṇa (Rādheya), asserting that he has the capacity to overcome Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna and that the success of the effort depends on him. Karṇa is urged to advance and directly confront Arjuna (Dhanañjaya) on the battlefield.
