एतावन्मात्रमेतद्धि भूतानां प्राज्ञलक्षणम्‌ | कालयुक्तो5प्युभयविच्छेषं॑ युक्त समाचरेत्‌

etāvanmātram etaddhi bhūtānāṁ prājñalakṣaṇam | kālayukto 'py ubhayaviccheṣaṁ yuktaḥ samācaret |

Sinabi ni Bhishma: “Ito ang tanda ng karunungan sa mga nilalang: sa pagtitiwala sa bunga ng dharma, iniaalay nila ang sarili sa pagsasabuhay nito. Kahit nakagapos ng panahon at kapalarang salungat, ang taong nakakakilala sa dapat gawin at sa di dapat gawin ay nararapat pa ring kumilos nang angkop—pumili ng dharma at isabuhay ito ayon sa kaya ng kalagayan.”
