मर्द नामाहुतिमयं व्यादितास्यं महामुनि: । तस्य दन्तसहस््रं तु बभूव शतयोजनम्

Wika ni Cyavana: “Ang dakilang rishi, sa pamamagitan ng handog na inihulog sa apoy—na mula mismo sa handog na iyon—ay nagpalitaw ng isang nilalang na nagngangalang Marda, na nakatindig na nakanganga. Sa loob ng bibig nito’y may isang libong ngipin, bawat isa’y sandaang yojana ang taas.”
