FAQs

It exemplifies a common Purāṇic literary feature: a stuti (hymn) embedded within a dialogue frame, where a devotee addresses a supreme figure (here, Viṣṇu/Ananta) using formal praise and requests, reflecting devotional idioms prevalent in early medieval Sanskrit textual culture.

No specific geographic location is named in this verse; it is primarily a devotional and philosophical request addressed to Viṣṇu/Ananta.

The verse foregrounds a philosophical instruction of humility and disciplined speech: offering praise and requesting knowledge (sarvajñatā) through devotion and respectful address rather than through coercive authority.
