FAQs

It reflects a common Purāṇic narrative technique where authoritative figures (the Saptarṣis) validate an extraordinary event, reinforcing the text’s cultural memory and sacred-historical framing.

No explicit place-name appears in this verse alone; it points to a location described in the surrounding Adhyāya 71 context (often treated as part of a sacred-geography narrative such as a māhātmya section).

Rather than a direct injunction, the verse conveys a philosophical instruction through approbation: exemplary action (implied by the preceding ‘great marvel’) is publicly affirmed by wise witnesses, modeling cultural ideals of commendable conduct.
