pitā me himavānastu menāgarbhe bhavāmyaham | atrāṃtare himavatā tapasā toṣito haraḥ | pratyakṣaṃ darśanaṃ dattvā himavaṃtaṃ vaco'bravīt
“ขอให้หิมวานเป็นบิดาของเรา และขอให้เราบังเกิดจากครรภ์ของเมนา” ครั้นนั้นเอง ด้วยตบะของหิมวาน พระหริ (พระศิวะ) ทรงพอพระทัย เสด็จปรากฏให้เห็นโดยตรง แล้วตรัสแก่หิมวานว่า
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) narrating; inner intent attributed to Devī, followed by Śiva’s response to Himavān
Tirtha: Vastrāpatha-kṣetra (narrative pivot) with Himalayan linkage
Type: kshetra
Scene: A Himalayan austerity scene: Himavān performing tapas; Śiva appears directly (pratyakṣa-darśana), speaking blessings; the Goddess’ rebirth-intent is voiced as a cosmic plan.
Tapas performed with sincerity draws divine grace, culminating in pratyakṣa-darśana (direct encounter with the Lord).
The episode is embedded in the Vastrāpathakṣetra Māhātmya of Prabhāsa, using cosmic history to magnify the kṣetra’s sanctity.
Tapas (austerity) is highlighted as the efficacious spiritual discipline; no specific procedural rite is enumerated.
