वातापिं संस्कृतं दृष्ट्वा मेषरूपं महासुरम् । उवाच देहि मे भोज्यं बुभुक्षा मम वर्तते

vātāpiṃ saṃskṛtaṃ dṛṣṭvā meṣarūpaṃ mahāsuram | uvāca dehi me bhojyaṃ bubhukṣā mama vartate

ครั้นเห็นวาตาปีถูกจัดเตรียมเป็นอาหาร—มหาอสูรในรูปแกะผู้—ท่านจึงกล่าวว่า “จงให้อาหารแก่เราเถิด ความหิวได้เกิดขึ้นในเราแล้ว”
