śāpena ṛṣimukhyānāṃ bhārgavāṇāṃ mahātmanām | tasminnipatite bhūmau trailokyaṃ sacarācaram

ด้วยคำสาปของฤๅษีผู้ประเสริฐทั้งหลาย คือมหาภารคพผู้ยิ่งใหญ่ ครั้นคำสาปนั้นตกลงสู่แผ่นดินแล้ว ไตรโลกพร้อมทั้งสรรพสิ่งที่เคลื่อนไหวและไม่เคลื่อนไหว ก็ถูกผลักให้ตกอยู่ในสภาพนี้
