Scene: Before the deity, baskets of ripe fruits are offered as the priest chants the root-mantra; nearby, symbolic representations of the three Vedas—palm-leaf manuscripts or bound texts—are garlanded and saluted.
Purāṇic worship integrates mantra and śāstra—honouring the Vedas is itself an act of dharma.
