tasmāttvaṃ yaccha me śīghraṃ bhojanaṃ raghunaṃdana | nānyena kāraṇaṃ kiṃcitsaṃnyastasya dhanādinā
Muni (Durvāsā)
Listener: Raghunandana/Raghu-line ruler
Scene: The sage, calm but direct, requests food immediately; his minimal possessions contrast with the host’s opulence; the moral clarity of renunciation is foregrounded.
A renunciant seeks only bare sustenance; the householder’s dharma is to respond promptly and without delay.
The teaching is framed within the sacred setting of the Nāgara Khaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya around a Rāma-mandira locale.
Immediate offering of भोजन (food) to an arrived guest-sage; a practical form of dāna and atithi-pūjā.
