tasmāttena mahīpena yasmānmārgaḥ pradarśitaḥ | apūrvo dharmasaṃbhūtaḥ kṛtaḥ samyaṅmahātmanā
Śiva (continuing)
Listener: Brahmā
Scene: Śiva praises the king Ajāpāla as a great-souled guide who has established a wondrous dharmic path; the scene suggests a moral ‘road’ opening before humanity under divine approval.
When a ruler embodies dharma, his example becomes a living ‘path’ that uplifts society and is praised as extraordinary.
No single tīrtha is named in this verse; it supports the broader tīrtha-māhātmya frame by highlighting dharmic leadership.
None; the verse praises dharma-based conduct and guidance.
