Bhīṣma
Type: kshetra
Scene: A pilgrim-party pauses at the threshold of a sacred region, gazing across a vista dotted with small shrines and ascetic hermitages; sages with matted hair sit in meditation, and the atmosphere suggests many tīrthas clustered together.
Pilgrimage is not only travel but darśana and learning: seeing tīrthas and shrines associated with realized sages cultivates devotion and dharma.
The verse speaks of multiple tīrthas and shrines within the same sacred region, understood in context as Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra.
An implied practice: remain and take darśana of the local tīrthas and sanctuaries (tīrtha-paryaṭana within the kṣetra).
