durvāsā uvāca | sādhayiṣyāmyahaṃ mantramabhīṣṭaṃ kamapi vratī | tasya siddhikṛte brūhi vidhānaṃ śāstrasaṃbhavam
Durvāsā
Listener: Lomaharṣaṇa (Sūta’s father)
Scene: Durvāsas, austere and radiant, addresses Lomaharṣaṇa in an āśrama, asking for the scriptural procedure to perfect a desired mantra; his posture is firm, eyes intense, yet reverent to śāstra.
Even powerful ascetics seek mantra-siddhi through śāstra-based discipline rather than mere impulse.
The site is not named in this verse; it leads into the glorification of Camatkārapura and Citreśvarīpīṭha.
A request is made for the proper vidhāna (procedure) for mantra-siddhi; details follow in subsequent verses.
