sāṃprataṃ kalikālo'yaṃ vartate dāruṇākṛtiḥ | tasmātkṛṣṇājinaṃ dehi sarvapāpaviśuddhaye
Durvāsā
Scene: Durvāsā points to the grimness of Kali; the donor presents a neatly folded black antelope-skin (or symbolic meditation seat) as an offering for purification.
In Kali-yuga’s harsh conditions, prescribed charity becomes a direct means of purification.
No tīrtha is named in this verse.
Donation (dāna) of a kṛṣṇājina (black antelope-skin) as a prāyaścitta for cleansing sins.
