दण्डो यमस्य तावन्नो यावच्छापो द्विजोद्भवः । अग्निना ज्वाल्यते दृश्यं शापोद्दिष्टानपि स्वयम्

daṇḍo yamasya tāvanno yāvacchāpo dvijodbhavaḥ | agninā jvālyate dṛśyaṃ śāpoddiṣṭānapi svayam

ตราบใดที่คำสาปซึ่งเกิดจากพราหมณ์ยังมีอยู่ ไม้ลงทัณฑ์ของยมก็ไม่ฉับพลันเท่านั้น เห็นได้ว่าคำสาปนั้นลุกโพลงเองดุจไฟ เผาผลาญแม้ผู้ที่ถูกชี้ด้วยคำสาปนั้นโดยตัวมันเอง
