कारणं कथ्यतामाशु वह्नीन्द्रवसुभिर्युताः । देवा ऊचुः । दैत्यैः पराजितास्तात संगरेऽद्भुतकारिभिः
kāraṇaṃ kathyatāmāśu vahnīndravasubhiryutāḥ | devā ūcuḥ | daityaiḥ parājitāstāta saṃgare'dbhutakāribhiḥ
พระพรหมตรัสว่า “จงบอกเหตุมาโดยเร็ว” เมื่อเหล่าเทพยืนอยู่เบื้องหน้า พร้อมด้วยพระอัคนี พระอินทร์ และหมู่วสุ เหล่าเทพทูลว่า “ข้าแต่บิดาผู้ควรเคารพ พวกเราพ่ายแพ้ในศึกแก่พวกไทตยะผู้สำแดงอิทธิฤทธิ์อัศจรรย์”
