śrāddhaṃ teṣāṃ prakartavyaṃ caturdaśyāṃ narādhipa | teṣāṃ tasminkṛte tṛptistatastatpakṣajā bhavet

ข้าแต่มหาราช สำหรับดวงวิญญาณผู้ล่วงลับเหล่านั้น พึงประกอบศราทธะในวันจตุรทศี (ขึ้น/แรม ๑๔ ค่ำ) ครั้นทำในวันนั้นแล้ว ความอิ่มเอิบพอใจของเขาย่อมบังเกิดตามพิธีแห่งปักษ์นั้นโดยตรง
