tato'hamaṣṭame varṣe yadā vratadharaḥ sthitaḥ | tadā paṃcatvamāpannaḥ pitā me vedapāragaḥ

ครั้นเมื่อข้าพเจ้าอยู่ในปีที่แปด และตั้งมั่นในวรตะ (พรต) บิดาของข้าพเจ้า—ผู้เชี่ยวชาญพระเวท—ก็ถึงความตาย ณ กาลนั้นเอง
