ऋषय ऊचुः । सूतपुत्र त्वया प्रोक्तं सावित्री नागता च यत् । कौटिल्येन समायुक्तैराहूता वचनैस्तथा । पुलस्त्येन पुनश्चैव प्रसक्ता गृहकर्मणि

เหล่าฤๅษีกล่าวว่า “โอ บุตรแห่งสูตะ ท่านได้เล่าแล้วว่า สาวิตรีมิได้มา แม้ถูกเชิญด้วยถ้อยคำอ่อนหวานปนเล่ห์กลก็ตาม แต่ปุลัสตยะก็ยังให้เธอข้องอยู่กับกิจการเรือนอีก จงบอกแก่เราตามที่เกิดขึ้นจริงโดยพิสดารเถิด”
