विपंचीं वादयन्स्वैरं दृष्टः स मुनिसत्तमः । अजानंत्या च तानानां विशेषं मूर्च्छनोद्भवम् । मया स हसितोऽतीव तानभंगतया गतः

vipaṃcīṃ vādayansvairaṃ dṛṣṭaḥ sa munisattamaḥ | ajānaṃtyā ca tānānāṃ viśeṣaṃ mūrcchanodbhavam | mayā sa hasito'tīva tānabhaṃgatayā gataḥ

“ข้าพเจ้าได้เห็นฤๅษีผู้ประเสริฐนั้น บรรเลงพิพัญจีอย่างเป็นอิสระ แต่เพราะข้าพเจ้าไม่รู้ความละเอียดต่างกันของเสียงสวระที่เกิดจากมูรฉนะ ข้าพเจ้าจึงหัวเราะเยาะอย่างยิ่ง คิดว่าเสียงของท่าน ‘ขาดแตก’”
