समः शत्रौ च मित्रे च समलोष्टाश्मकांचनः । सुहृत्पुत्र उदासीनः स यतिर्नेतरः स्मृतः

samaḥ śatrau ca mitre ca samaloṣṭāśmakāṃcanaḥ | suhṛtputra udāsīnaḥ sa yatirnetaraḥ smṛtaḥ

ผู้เดียวเท่านั้น—มิใช่อื่น—ที่ระลึกว่าเป็นยติ คือผู้เสมอภาคต่อศัตรูและมิตร ผู้ที่ก้อนดิน หิน และทองคำเป็นสิ่งเดียวกัน และผู้ไม่ยึดติดแม้ต่อบุตรของสหาย ดำรงอยู่ในอุเบกขาอันสงบ
