etasmātkāraṇāddharmyaṃ mayā tyaktaṃ dvijottamāḥ | mokṣamārgārgalā bhūtaṃ dṛṣṭvā sarpaviceṣṭitam

ด้วยเหตุนี้เอง โอท่านผู้ประเสริฐในหมู่ทวิชะ ข้าพเจ้าจึงละทิ้งชีวิตคฤหัสถ์อันเรียกว่า ‘น่าเคารพ’ นั้น เพราะได้เห็นอาการดุจงู ซึ่งกลายเป็นกลอนขวางหนทางสู่โมกษะ
