समः शत्रौ च मित्रे च समलोष्टाश्मकांचनः । समो मानापमानेषु न प्रेतो जायते नरः

samaḥ śatrau ca mitre ca samaloṣṭāśmakāṃcanaḥ | samo mānāpamāneṣu na preto jāyate naraḥ

ผู้ที่มีจิตใจสม่ำเสมอต่อศัตรูและมิตร มองเห็นก้อนดิน หิน และทองคำว่ามีค่าเท่ากัน และวางเฉยในเกียรติยศและความอัปยศ ผู้นั้นย่อมไม่เกิดเป็นเปรต
