स तां संवीक्षते यावत्सर्वावयवशोभनाम् । तावत्कामशरैर्व्याप्तः कर्तव्यं नाभ्यविंदत

sa tāṃ saṃvīkṣate yāvatsarvāvayavaśobhanām | tāvatkāmaśarairvyāptaḥ kartavyaṃ nābhyaviṃdata

ครั้นเขาจ้องมองนาง—ผู้รุ่งเรืองงามในทุกอวัยวะ—ก็พลันถูกศรแห่งกามเทพ (กามะ) แทงทะลุ จนมิอาจรู้ได้ว่าควรกระทำสิ่งใด
